A. Thesaurus is a tool that provides a representative word for a concept.

A. Semantic relations among the words or terms, phrases, and sentences provide links based on hierarchical, related, associative, etc. Q. How can one access the Maithili Language Thesaurus?
A. The user of the thesaurus needs to go to the home page at www.omlt.in or Google Maithili Language Thesaurus and click the relevant link to reach the home page of the thesaurus.
Q. How can one search the terms in the Maithili Language Thesaurus?
Q. Just by clicking on the “Join” text on the home page of www.omlt.in or clicking the search menu and selecting any search option, that will lead the user to the thesaurus search page.
Q. What is the basic search?
A. It is the simplest text search in which you just put the term or phrase you wish to search from the thesaurus, and the term will be displayed on screen with all its semantic network.
Q. What is the Advanced Search?
A. The user can filter the search using the given parameter within the search options.
Q. How can the user navigate through the network of semantically related terms of the searched term?
A. After clicking on the different words in the displayed network of words for the main term, a further network of words for the word is displayed and that way one can go to a deeper level of hierarchy or related terms, etc.
Q. How many types of search options are there for users’ convenience?
A. Apart from basic and advanced search, the user can use guided search based on the alphabetical list available on the main page.
Q. Is there any provision to provide a list of terms starting with a particular alphabet?
A. There is a list of all the alphabet that are the first letter of terms in the thesaurus. Just click on the letter and you will be able to get a list of terms starting particularly that alphabet.
Q. Which script has been used for storing terms in the thesaurus?
A. Devnagari script has been used.
Q. Why has the thesaurus not been created using the Tirhuta script?
Q. The UNICODE of Tirhuta Script is not available yet, hence it is not possible to create a thesaurus using Tirhuta script.
